Today deserves its own post…. What a wonderful day and one I will remember for a long time. We drove about an hour outside of Stuttgart to the small city of Bad Wilbad. It’s a lovely town that actually houses natural thermal spas (the adults will have to come back for that Experience at some point). We came here to do the tree top hike that takes you up above the tree line of the Black Forest. You spend some time walking above and then on the way back you realize why they call it the Black Forest. The floor of the forest in some areas barely gets sunlight. Both the top and bottom views are breathtaking.
At the top of the lovey climb there are views like no other. These Germans always think of the neatest things too…you can take a 55 meter slide DOWN the climb that takes the kids right to an amazing playground. A lovely day in the sun and weather at the park watching clara do a ropes course and giant air bubble trampoline.
On the way back we happened upon a “Blumen” (flower) field where you pick and pay for your own flowers. They had sunflowers, Lily’s, dalias and gladiolus. What an experience…like nothing I’ve ever done before. Thankful that this amazing field and farm is only 30 minutes from our home is very exciting. We are all exhausted but thankful for an amazing day.
